Educating
Communicating science clearly and effectively have long been major priorities for me. For five years as a senior research specialist and lab manager, I was responsible for instructing and directing undergraduates, graduate students, and postdocs. Upon beginning my graduate education at Carnegie Mellon, I immediately started taking advantage of Carnegie Mellon's Eberly Center program for teaching excellence and educational innovation, the Future Faculty Program. I'm also a Graduate Teaching Fellow, where I conduct observations of my fellow graduate students' guest lectures and recitations. I facilitate microteaching workshops and advise graduate students in writing teaching statements in coordination with Eberly Center teaching consultants.
